Great games you can play with one thumb

A lot of phone gaming happens when your other hand is busy — holding a rail, a mug, or a bag. Games that demand both hands just don't fit those moments.

FISHIN' FRENZY is a perfect example of one-thumb design done right. Cast, hold, release. That's the whole input, and it never feels limiting.

When I judge a game for one-handed play, I check where the buttons sit. If the important controls hug the bottom third of the screen, your thumb can reach them comfortably. Buttons stranded in the top corners are a nightmare.

Casual and puzzle games tend to be the safest bets here, but I've found the odd racer and sim that work too. It's less about genre and more about whether the developer thought about how people actually hold their phones.
